Brains not connecting to Vex V5code (online)

Greetings,

My students are using the Vex V5 Brains and are trying to get them to connect to the website for coding (https://codev5.vex.com/ ).

For some reason though, when they’re trying to connect the brains to the computer, but when they do, it says that both ports (only two USB) are already paired and thus they can’t get the brain to work with the website.

We’ve tried restarting the Brains, disconnecting/connecting the USB, swapping chords, clearing the cache, closing the tab and re-opening it restarting the computer, even in some cases changing brains. (The last two options usually work by that point, but not always).

Am I missing something that’s causing the computers to think the device is paried when it’s not? Is there a way to get the brains to connect without going through a giant list of possibilities on why it’s not working? (It’s different computers, different brains and different cords. I’m not seeing a connection)

My team had a very similar problem. What we did to fix the problem is downloading VEXcode V5, instead of using the web version. You can download the latest version here.
If that doesn’t fix your problem I don’t really know what else could be causing the trouble.

The brain could also have a faulty port that might be causing this, if so and if you have I would suggest trying another brain. Also you could try a different computer as the USB port could be damaged. Other than that you could try downloading the Vexcode V5 extension for chrome, The visual code studio add on or Vexcode V5 Pro.
