its about 17.5 inches long, while a 1x2x1x25 would be 12.5 inches.

Do you have a computer you can CAD on? This can help further questions in relation to length and part size.

If you are 3d modeling a robot all the STEP files should be online. On each of the product pages… also if you are using inventor then I think we have a bunch of libraries full of parts with iMates on them!

yes i have autodesk inventor … but this is just on a paper.

a quick trick is to remember that each hole is half an inch long, so if you have a piece that’s 35, you know its 17.5 inches long. Its also useful when building to notice that vex pieces come in 5 hole or 2.5 inch increments. Let’s say your building something that requires precise hole positioning(maybe a linkage of some sort). You can count by the incisions along the channel
