Hello I am a robotics one student and I am wondering what CAD software I should use?

My team uses onshape. There’s a tutorial online by jerry polardy thats I learned the basics of cadding from. I have a friend who used protobot, and its very easy to use, but slightly outdated with some parts.

I personally prefer f360, i heard onshape is okay also, both should work as long as you have some basic knowledge

If you’re new, use protobot. If you’re not as new, try Fusion360. If youre school only gives you a chomebook (only website), use Onshape.

Protobot is by far the best for beginners, as its built up exclusively for Vex. It does lack a few features like polycarbonate piece design, but it should be sufficient for newer teams.

inventor is sooo easy to learn and theres tons of people who can help if you have questions

We use fusion 360, its good, but needs lots of esetup

Btw, if you are planning on using Protobo’t as your software, you should try using Protobot Rebuilt. It is constantly getting more features added and is being actively developed. It also has a bunch of features the original Protobot doesn’t. But, like 60_Percent_C_Channel said, it is being worked on…

Thanks I found Onshape to be the easiest to use with the benefit of it being common and most importantly free.
