Can i brand motors and oer parts with my team logo?

i was reading rule R28 part a subsection iv, and i was wondering if branding of the motors was included in the etc. of acceptable labelling.

By branding what do you mean?

Do you mean putting your logo on the motor?
R28 is very clear…

I would say “probably”. The rule allows aesthetic/non-functional labeling and indicates some surface application methods (paint, stickers). A brand or etching is a similar non-functional labeling method.

I would allow it at my inspection line. Physical markings are the strongest method to make sure no one walks away with your stuff. Stickers can be pealed, sharpie can be wiped off with isopropyl alcohol.

(The opinion of one dude)

Q&A 2397 from this past season did say etching a motor for labeling would be legal

We got a branding iron with our team’s logo on it, and we wondered if we could brand our motors and parts and it be legal

Better to brand your parts than your Alliance Partners

I would recommend not branding parts, makes resale harder.

A branding iron? Is here a different way you could do it? I’m not sure if that’s legal. I would ask a QnA
