Can I make a Minecraft style double piston extender with pneumatics?

I’m dumb, and it’d be really cool if I made a double piston extender in robotics

What do you mean by a “double piston extender”?

yes put a shaft collar on one piston and attach it to the other one

One piston pushes another.

Kind of? Let’s say the bottom piston extends, moving the top one up. Then when the top one extends, there is a very high chance, depending on the force it’s trying to push, that instead of extending, it pushes the bottom one. This results in no movement or if the top one is stronger, pushes the bottom one back down. The hard part is setting up the joints but assuming it’s moving a light load it could work.

But why??

why not. seems fun (20 char)

I believe it was robokauz that had a concept similar to this on a flywheel ramp off their spin up bot. They had to pistons with on mounted off the other so when the first extended the second moved with it. They used to for range adjustment so when both were retracted it was long range, first piston extended mid range, and both extended was short range. This setup allowed for three adjustment points rather than the normal two point you get from a single piston.
