Can I use the iron chain on this basket to use on my robot in the following seasons?
Typically, no, but you will not know for sure until Game Manual is released for next season. Historically, elements from previous games are not permitted to be used on robots, nor are trophies, nor apparel sold by VEX… The exception is with plastic that meets the requirements in the Game Manual. That is why you see some Turning Point flags on robot intakes and elsewhere.

Although we won’t know what is legal or not next year until the new game manual is released, certain sections of the manual such at R-6 and R-7 don’t change much from season to season. Be sure also to read the note in the red box at the end of R6,
I had thought about that as well. I would assume so, but I’m sure that after the game reveal, we should be able to see if it is legal or even profitable.
It is very unlikely, but until next season’s Q and A and game manual, you can’t be sure!
I doubt it you haven’t been allowed to use game field elements in the past
I think that in some cases you can, as long as it complies with the standard rules of the game. An example of where it is legal would be using the backboards from Change Up as part of an intake (legal plastic). An example of where it would not be legal would be using the middle cross braces from the platforms in Tipping Point (the plastic is outside the thickness limit.
