Can other event blocks be used in Competition Template?

Can other event blocks be used in the competition template besides “when started” “when autonomous” and “when driver controlled”? For example, will the driver controlled period of a competition recognize “when controller1 button…”?

Yes they can as seen below. The only time it wont work is during auton because well its auton.
