Our robot is heavier on the back because the controller and the motors are on the back… so traction is not very good on the front. Is it possible to add some weights to the front to make it have better traction at the front?
Yes, but the weights must be sold on VEXlabs. Basically modify parts to become weights. My personal favourite is getting a lot of nutts/bolts, and wrapping it in antislip matt.
Also, stacking useless wheels works well as well.
If space is tight u can bolt 5x25 plates together for counterweight. this works well and was used by our team this year 2 help counter the weight of our arm.
I would personally design the metal parts into something useful instead of just adding bags of weight. Be careful not to add to much beacause it may decrease your robots performance.
Id didn’t matter for our team. We were driving the back wheels only with the lift bolted right above that and the metal counter weights on the tilting part of the lift, so it actually kept our wheels planted on the grpund and would not allow us to tip back.
