First time using the forums, but i really need some help. I’m attempting to make a catapult robot for my robotics class final, 10th grade. I know this isn’t the easiest thing to do, but i felt like i could do it. i had an idea for the launching mechanism, but when i told my teacher he said it wouldn’t work out. any way i could get some ideas on other launching mechanisms? im new to actually building robots, so please if you can try to describe in simple terms.

Pretty much all VEX bots have a variation of these three mechanisms:
- Flywheels
- Punchers
- Catapults
What was your plan for the mechanism? Catapults are usually simple to build (albeit hard to tune). Catapults involve motors spinning slip gears, which are gears with a certain amount of teeth shaved off (the regular teeth pull the catapult backwards, and the shaved off teeth allow the catapult’s rubber bands to launch rapidly).
