I am looking to buy new rubber bands for the catapult that our team has made. I bought a pack of economy rubber bands from staples, but we have found that they vary a lot in their elasticity and they also degrade very quickly. Anyone who is using a catapult/puncher have any favorites?
Ask Blue Rooster… They know every thing about rubber bands… They have a special supplier of blue ones for QCC2.
I have had good consistency with the rubber bands we have as “soft stretch” at robosource.net which are alliance pale crepe gold brand ones. Alliance sterling also seem good, those are the “premium” ones.
If anyone wants to do some scientific tests to compare rubber bands, let me know and I’ll send you some for free. I’d love to know myself how much of a difference there is between different rubber bands, but don’t have the time or equipment to do good tests.
We use the vex rubber bands. They seem to work well.
The VEX ones are Alliance Non-Latex brand:
And no, I’m not saying you should buy them from Uline, you can get them cheaper and in smaller quantities elsewhere.
You can get blue rubber bands from a secret supplier called Amazon… or Wal-Mart…

I ended up going with the Alliance Sterling line. I will post my results.
