Is their a list for the Championship Tournimate in dallas yet. I know I can’t spell.
What do you mean by list? The teams? I have a list, because I have been monitering the teams that win from every tournament up until now. Some of the tournament results are not posted, so after that I am unable to find that out.
If you want to find out if you qualify for the tournament, you or your team will recieve a letter.
Go ahead and post your list. I’d like to see it.
Thanks.
We got an email.
Ditto.

I apologize if I have missed one. If I have, just mention it and i’ll add you in.
If the team is listed more than once, that means they qualify for more than one robot, aka they got first place multiple times.
It appears the list is missing the results from these two tournaments

First link is for the nova VRC Regional. The winners of that were 12A and 12C, both being the school of: ACME Robotics / The Potomac School, McLean, VA. This has thus been listed twice for that tournament.
For the second link, I am unsure of what school they are from, and the Robotevents.com never posted results for this specific tournament. I really don’t want to have to go add EVERY single school’s robot name, so I apologize for me neglecting to try and search for these specific robots.
Is this a list of the teams that have qualified only, or a list that have actually signed up to attend the World Championships?
qualify only.
I thought you wanted to list all the teams that have qualified to attend the World Championship. That list includes more than just the teams that won on the 2 vs 2 field. That is why I pointed you at the NOVA Tournament.
If you wait to find out the school the Dunbar Lab Rats tournament 2vs2 winners are from, you will be waiting a long time. They are not from any school. Both are 4H teams.
24_ is one of the Super Sonic Sparks teams
42 is “Mostly Harmless”
[Soapbox]You don’t have to wait for your school to create a team for you - And, if your school has a team, that doesn’t mean that the school-based team is the only one you are able to join - Just start one with your friends if you want to step out on your own - In some ways independent teams have much more freedom to get things done.
On the other hand - In some ways school-based teams have lots of built-in support from the school system…[/Soapbox]

We combine the two approaches – we are an independent club with about 40 student members AND we are very friendly with the schools which our students attend. Everyone wins – we get cooperation with the school, but none of their staff gets burned out being the one having to run the program.
Several VRC/FTC teams in the area are a parent, their kids, and a friend or two. One of the things I like about VRC is that it’s about creativity and hard work, not about who can bring in a $10,000 grant. Don’t misunderstand me, I also think there is plenty of room for things like FIRST’s FRC, it just doesn’t suit our goals and program.
If you live within 45 minutes of Downingtown / Exton PA, have 3-5 roboteers that are serious about robots, and an adult mentor that has some mechanical skills (righty tighty/lefty looosy) contact me here or at [email protected] and we will get you set up as a team. We do training of mentors and roboteers. Can’t get you a slot into this years championship, but can get you a good shot for 2010.
To fill in a bit of info from the Central San Joaquin tournament:
Enochs High School (438) is from Modesto, CA
Vista Del Lago (1337) is from Folsom, CA
Turlock High School (833c Turlock, CA) also qualified to advance (not listed in the post)
So… even though Blake gave you two team names (Super Sonic Sparks and Mostly Harmless), since they are not associated with a school, you will not update the list to include them?
Alexander Makenzie HS - Mustang team 478 qualifed for worlds through the skills challenge in the southern Ontario competition.
St. Joseph High School qualified two teams for the championship.
921A qualified through the skills challenge
921B qualified through the tournament
The school qualified by winning the Excellence award
I think the list also omits results from Vancouver’s most recent event (Gladstone Open - Feb 20th).

But might I also suggest that rather trying to build this list from the bottom up we get some IFI folk, who, after all are the keepers of lists and senders of letters… to post and maintain an official one somewhere … up there on the official Q&A for example?

From the SiaTech Regional in San Jose, CA on february 28th teams 1000 (Foothill High School in Pleasanton CA), 254e (Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose, CA) and 726d (Riverdale High School in Riverdale, CA) were the winning alliance and qualified for Dallas.
Team 1177 S.H.I.R.T, Stephenson High School, from Stone Mountain, Georgia has qualified for Dallas through the Georgia Vex Tournament at Rockdale Academy. we qualified by winning the excellence award and being on the winning alliance.
I guess this might as well be the collection point for anyone who wants to build a list. From Explorer Post 2036, the Exothermic Robotics Club:
417: Programming Skills, Washington
418: Robot Skills, Tournament Winner, Washington
419: Tournament Winner, Washington
575: Excellence Award and Programming Skills, Vancouver Gladstone
420 might be going, but it will be off the waiting list.
