Chassis Strength

How strong is the chassis? Will it survive the vigorous interaction of an FRC season?

**The chassis was designed to provide a solid base for a robot drivetrain. When utilized correctly it can easily withstand even the most intense play.

Chassis and transmission prototypes were put through destructive testing and held up fine.

We urge teams to do their own testing to verify our results!

I notice an assembled chassis twists “across corners” and lacks some torsional rigidity about it’s central axes. Is this a problem?

**No. The construction and attachment of an “upper chassis” and “mechanism” should help to eliminate this twisting.

Due to the flat nature of the FRC2005 playingfield this twist may not even NEED to be eliminated. Think of it as “integrated suspension” Wink .**
