Cheap pneumatics

My team and I are looking to maybe buy pneumatics so we are able the do a PTO this year. We are just wondering if there any other cheaper websites to get a pneumatics kit from other than VEX website. Thanks you much appreciate.

If you want more information on this, check this link from the game manual:

Because Legacy is likely out of stock (I can’t seem to find this; Tell me if I am wrong), your best hopes are on SMC Components: https://www.smcusa.com/search?q=pneumatic (Again, please tell me if this is not the correct SMC as stated).

Just beware, some people on the VTOW server have shown emails stating that VEX has discontinued the solenoid driver cable, which connects the solenoid to the brain.

Since only VEX sells this part, it is now pretty much impossible to use SMC pneumatics since the manual prohibits custom/3rd party solenoid cables, unless you follow the loophole in R15a and say, “I was only ‘repairing’ this 3 wire and made it a pneumatic cable…” (can someone post a q&a about this once it opens? Thanks!)

No. You can use the new vex solenoids with legacy tanks and cylinders just fine.

Yeah, but then you’d have to buy and entire pneumatics kit from VEX, which is what the OP is trying to avoid .
(thanks for the clarification though, it probably confused some other people!)

Not necessarily. The vex kit only comes with 1 tank and you’re allowed 2. Additionally, the 3 cylinders are different sizes and maybe you need 2 of the same kind. You just need 1 more T valve. You want a bike pump fitting to fill up the tank more efficiently. The list goes on and on.

Good idea! I stand corrected
Though for the wires, it seems that according to the catalog, the port is something called an “MO” 5vdc “electrical entry”, but I can’t seem to find a commercial one for some reason. Anyone find a connector?
