Chromebook shows no brain connected

Ask if you can provide your model of Chromebook that will help us investigate as well:

@tfriez I used the VEX factory USB cable to update the robot OS/firmware from my Windows PC using VexOS. Then used the same USB cable to connect to the Chromebook. I am using the VEXcode V5 Blocks app on the Chromebook, but it doesn’t detect the brain (brain icon is white). In the app, I can’t see the blue movement blocks either, but I assume that is because the robot is not connected.

The Chromebook I’m currently using is an ASUS C101P Notebook PC. The string for the Google OS Firmware Version says Google_Bob.8785.262.0. Not sure whether it matters or not, but it is a district managed Chromebook.

Blocks don’t appear until devices are added in the Devices window (the little plug icon in the top right).

You may want to check with your IT Admin to make sure USB devices are allowed since it’s a managed Chromebook. We have a number of Asus Chromebooks in the office and haven’t had any issues. I’ll continue to look into this.

Sorry for the late answer. Turns out it was a bad network card. So all is good.
