My circuit breaker broke. Does that effect the speed controllers from functioning correctly? Where can I get a new circuit breaker to replace the one provided by FIRST.
If the circuit breaker is in “line" or series with the speed controller and if it is always broken or “open’, then the speed controller will not operate. If the circuit breaker is in series with the speed controller and if is always broken or “closed", then the speed controller will operate but will not have the current protection provided from a work circuit breaker. Our circuit breakers are located on our Accessories web page near the bottom. Here is the link: http://www.ifirobotics.com/accessories.shtml
I have a classroom project in which I am planning to use a IF controller with victor 883 speed controllers. My question is can I run power through and older FIRST supplied Buss ATC Fuse Panel # 15600-06-21 and use 8 - 10 amp automotive fuses to limit power availability to the project robots without damaging the victor speed controllers?
Yes, you can always limit current using a fuse or circuit breaker without damaging a Victor speed controller. We recommended using a breaker to prevent damage to the Victor because the Victor is not current limited.
