In the rules for Vex V5 high stakes 2024-2025, a rule called SG2 states that your robot can only expand in one x/y direction. I was wondering if you could expand in 1 direction, retract, and expand in another direction without breaking this rule.
No, You must declare what side your are expanding 6 inches (or less) while being inspected.

While I think it’s important to HIGHLY encourage people to read the game manual closely, I see a lot of people being a little rude about relaying that message, which can be a turnoff to people new to the forum (Like the OP). In which case I think it’s more important to be nicer about it.

Absolutely agree with this. I understand they need to read the manual, but some people can be really over the top whenever these questions get asked.

From the Robot’s perspective, they may only expand in one “X/Y” direction (i.e., from a single “side” of the Robot). This “side” must be identified and measured during Robot inspection.
