Claw Ideas

Are there any good passive claw ideas for chainbars? Or do u guys hav any really good claw designs in general?

Any claw with things that stick out (screws, standoffs), to grab the cone is the basis of most claws I’ve seen

Notice how he said passive claws, what you are suggesting is a claw with a motor I’m assuming since trying to use screws to pick up a cone passively will not work. To answer the question, if you are internally stacking it will be hard to find a passive I take for that, but if you are externally stacking, you can use a form of ziptie intake which can be found around the forum and even YouTube.

+1

Thats my favorite when someone says something on the forum that is completely ignored later on and you have to restate what was already said

Passive claws are not hard. I made one in an hour or so. It’s just tensioned so that I can run into a cone or slam from the top of a cone and it intakes beautifully. I would suggest you try out some configurations and find out what is the best type of claw for you.

7700R made a good passive intake for internal. I have noticed large zip tie claws are generally used for passive intakes. For active intakes, I have noticed many people use rolling intakes

If you have just a chainbar, I don’t think a passive intake is very possible. I think all the ones I’ve seen require more than one degree of freedom while stacking which a chainbar alone doesn’t have.

I’m actually working on a robot that can do that, but I can’t reveal how yet since it is my late season robot.
