RAR have just posted the videos of the QFs of the scrimage they held on Sunday the 8th of August. You can find them on our channel http://www.youtube.com/user/RoboticsAtRangitoto. Live video may be better than an animation;)
The team is gearing up to process the rest of the eliminations and final this weekend.
www.vexrobotics.co.nz Most schools have their own website or private forums. Then there’s [www.nzvex.co.nz but that’s a dead forum. But the vexrobotics site is not that great. Only have teams for the 08/09 season that entered. Nothing about the 09/10 season. And for products (which ended up being taken off the site) there was 2. When you go to the link to what the VEX Comp is, gives you a screenshot of one of the official vex pages with no links, same goes for the product page. Thats very interesting. Looks like I actually did a nice job of simulating the physics of the playing objects (really hard to do without playing with them).
The animation is coming, teams should see both the animation(s) and videos of the real thing to get a full perspective on this game.
Nice to see a holonomic drive, I think we’ll be seeing many of those this year!
There was only 1 holo with the diagonal wheels, and 3 or 4 with one on each side of the chassi. I was walking around on the Saturday and not that many use it. Thanks for the vids, hopefully the rest of the comp is up soon.
Neither of the two teachers could attend, they had both worked the last saturday and had done multiple late nights that week. One of them hadn’t even seen his daughters since tuesday (he told me on friday) and he lives with them. So 5 of us went on the Saturday and just build two chassi’s and watched the other robots. But we didn’t compete on the sunday, although I watched most of it on the stream. We’ll be coming to the next comp though That comp gave us a few ideas. Thanks AIC, Avondale, Homeschool (Free Range for the rest of the world) and Rangitoto (especialy for streaming, do it again ).
The team worked hard this weekend and we are now uploading the videos of the semifinals and finals. The resolution is better and the videos are mopeuch clearer as a result.
