Code direct link to controller

Right now whenever my team wants to change the code on the robot, we have to relink our robot via a cord to our laptop. Ive heard people say you can direct link to the controller and upload code that way. Ive looked lots of places and cant find how…?

Plug the controller into a USB port like you do with the brain. It should recognize the controller in VEXcode and allow you to perform downloads. This only works if the controller is linked to the brain with a radio.

Huh, when my team tried this it didn’t work. I’ll send a video tomorrow of us trying it.

Thanks!

plugging into the controller is more convenient, but is slower and less reliable. if you are at a tournament and need the code to be updated ASAP then plug into the bot. on the other hand, plugging into the controller is great for working on or finetuning auton code or stuff like that. what my team uses is a micro usb extender like this: https://www.amazon.com/Riipoo-Extension-Charging-Transferring-Samsung/dp/B06Y4FDVNN
