Hi, I need the code for using gifs in the Vex V5 brain. I tried to upload the gifdemo.v5code file to the vex code v5 website, but it said it was incompatible. does anyone have the file in v5cpp form? I don’t have permission to use the PROS software because I don’t have a windows computer. Please help. here is the zip file that was provided:
gifdemo.zip (485.2 KB)
The file that I tried to upload is in the zip file.
Not really compatible with the web site (or non Pro VEXcode), that project was for VEXcode Pro V5.
also looks sort of old, I would start with this version (again you would need VEXcode Pro V5 or the VSCode vex extension to use this directly).
oh ok. thanks. I will try downloading the app on my windows 8.1 computer.
so i just tried installing the app onto my windows 8.1 computer, but it didn’t install. is it possible you could paste the code necessary to run it? i was able to copy/paste the code you posted in this thread into codev5.vex.com and it ran.
quoting from the student centered policy.
Teams that utilize example code or custom libraries from outside sources should use caution. The program used in the robot should represent the students’ design efforts and abilities. Blindly using code without understanding the code functionality is not consistent with the educational goals of this program. Students should be able to understand and explain the code used on their robots, and students should be able to demonstrate that they can program on a level equivalent to the code included on their robot.
It sounds like this is way beyond your skill level. This code was designed for a multi file environment such as VEXcode Pro V5. It could be all reworked into a single file that could be pasted into codev5.vex.com, but no, I’m not planning to do that.
