VEX encourages students to iterate the engineering design process through continuous refinements. The comment or feedback from judges for the design award (or other awards) will provide students with the idea which areas need improvement. This kind of comment/feedback is valuable to students. It is common in the musical contests at school districts. I didn’t see that happen in this competition event. I hope that the judge committee will consider my comment. Also, I appreciate all the hard work of the judges during the three days competition event. Thank you.
Have you considered getting feedback independent of competitions?
Many teachers, or professional mentors, or friends of these, would be willing to do a 1-off judging session for a couple hours one evening. Its much easier to get that type of volunteer than “we need a mentor 2 hours * 2x a week for the entire build season”.
