Competition Controller Simulation

I have posted in the EasyC forum, but I figured I would also ask the community so that anyone who has had success or similar experiences can chime in.

I have the latest version of EasyC V2 and have recently updated to VEXnet (complete with Master Code 10 and the VEXNet hardware) and followed all directions for proper installation, assembly, etc. I tried to use the Competition Switch Simulator in the terminal window, but it can’t connect to the controller and it always displays an error about initializing the simulator. In addition, I tried to download code wirelessly via the VEXNet key yet the code compiles and never downloads.

My questions at this point:

  1. Is there a fix for this error and the compiling problem?
  2. How should we connect the controller, robot, etc. to use the simulation? (I have seen no diagrams or instructions for this)
  3. How should we connect the controller, robot, etc. to wirelessly download? (I have seen no diagrams or instructions for this)

You might be having a problem with your computer recognizing your controller. Make sure you have a driver installed or else your computer will have no idea what the hardware is you are trying to connect to so it will not be able to figure out what to do.

To download wirelessly you plug the programming cable (usb-serial) into the back of the wifi part on the controller. This is also how you can link to use the switch.
