Computer not connecting to V5 brain

I am taking over my schools robotics program and for the life of me I can not get my brain to connect to a computer. I have tried multiple computers and cords to connect it.
I have tried go into the C>Program Files (x86)>VEX Robotics>V5Drivers folder and run the “Console Driver Installer.exe” as admin.
I went to the device manager and with the V5 brain plugged into the USB port of the computer, checked to see if the ports were showing up and they are not showing up.

Any advice on what to do? The USB ports are recognized with other items plugged into it just not the brain. Thanks.

Try a different brain if you didn’t already do that.
(and I assume the brain was powered on)

Hi, I have the exact same problem and have taken the exact same steps and results, except with only 1 computer and when I checked the ports the “Communications Port” and “User Port” DID show up. We don’t have access to another brain right now, are there any other steps I can try?

I have had the problem multiple time and found it’s the issue with the cable. The brain only like a certain type of cable which I haven’t been able to identify. I found a couple that work and keep them safe cause it takes me ages to sort and find another working one.
