Connecting a Drive Train

Hey! I’m a new member of a year long team and have been working on the chassis for this game, figured out a good gear ratio (3:7 with 600rpm motors) with 4m and an easy way to motor stack, the only problem I’ve ran into is how to connect the inner and outer channels, the omni wheels have an uncomfortably small amount of clearance with the standoffs on either side by using 30 long c channels and moving up to 35 may be too long for what I intend to do later on.

I was wondering the general guideline for the amount of support you need as I’ve seen varying amounts in showcase videos, can I move it all down a stud and connect only one side with two standoffs or is there a better way?

One way my team connected our two sides is to make a sort of standoff bridge above the wheels, we use this bridge to mount our brain and lisence plate. Although, we do still have those base standoffs and I don’t know if that will be strong enough to hold on and you might be at risk of busting up that metal. Good luck anyway.
