Controller update problem

whnever I compile and download I get this

Robot controller firmware (9.68) is out of date with IDE (10.06) and may need to be updated.

Program will be downloaded to robot but may not execute properly if there are incompatibilies
between versions of firmware version and IDE.

Use the “Download firmware command” found in the “Robot” menu to update firmware.

Whn I go to update it saays its up-to-date. Even when I manually update the controller it gives me that.

because it say the controller is out of date I get this eery time I try to Donload the program anyways

ABORTED. Unable to read file system table of contents from robot.

Any ideas? Please help

This robotC or easyC? Do you have any problems downloading code directly to the cortex with out the controller?

Are you using RobotC 3.x or 4.x?

I think he must be using Robotc 4.x Oscar, because on RobotC 3.62 its F/W: 9.68.

Are you using the automatic updater in RobotC? Instead of that use the manually update firmware option, and just manually download the RobotC Firmware.

Also it may be worth it to just entirely refresh, and start from just re-downloading the V4.01 firmware using the utility, then download RobotC Firmware 10.06.

if your using 4.x perhaps downgrade to 3.x? if your going to downgrade make a copy of a code first, because you will have to change a few things becuase the syntax is a little bit different.
Sorry for any spelling errors I’m currently using an android to type this.

Thank you Bottom Notch, Oscar, MWallace -

We had Robot C 3.0, got the new VEX Net 2.0 keys, then downloaded to Robot C 4.0. Now it says there is “No connection with the robot” when it is connected with the programming cable. We follow all all the instructions on the error message with no luck. Currently, we cannot compile and download with Robot 4.0 and use the vex net key 2.0.
We will try BottomNotch’s last idea to downgrade ~

Looking for anything and everything on Forum for help, we have State competition in two weeks. Anyone feel like Skyping?

Thanks again ~

(BTW - purchased a new keyboard, so hopefully there will be fewer spelling errors - doubt it - but there were some really bad sticky keys

Wireless programming using VEXnet 2.0 is not supported yet. Wireless programming using VEXnet 1.0 should work as before, using the USB A-A cable between the cortex and joystick will still work.
