Cortex Not Saving Program

Hello,

I have been trying to download a program to my student’s vex cortex microcontroller, and when it is still plugged into the computer the program will run and the lights will be normal. We will follow the proper procedures, turning off the cortex, exiting out of the run window, and then unplugging it, but each time we try to start the cortex the Robot light will flicker then not do anything, meanwhile the vexnet and Game lights will flash green.

I have tried rebooting the cortex and redownloading firmware but each attempt does not work and I end up with the same issue. Not sure if there is something I am doing wrong or any way to fix this since it is happening to a few different cortexes we have. Thanks.

Using RobotC ? see this topic, change the communications mode if you are using without controller/VEXnet key.

VEX Cortex - can it run as a stand alone controller without a remote?

I am using the vez cortex to run a simple motors on and motors off program. It works fine as long as it’s hooked up via USB cable to the computer. I need it to start and stop on its own as soon as I turn on the power switch. Can that be done?
