Cortex. "Y" split to motor? Illegal?

Use the y cable directly in the cortex and use two motor controllers.

Use the y cable directly in the cortex and use two motor controllers.

A Y-Cable directly into motor ports 2 - 9 on the cortex/power expander is legal.
From that Y-Cable there can be a maximum of 2 motor controllers, each controlling one 393 Motor.

<R12> A maximum of one (1) VEX Y-cable can be used per Motor Port of the Microcontroller or
Power Expander. (You cannot “Y off a Y” to have more than two (2) motors controlled by the same
Motor Port.)
a. Teams using the VEX ARM® Cortex®-based Microcontroller can only power one (1) 2-wire
Motor per each of the two 2-wire motor ports on the Microcontroller. It is illegal to “Y” off a 2-
wire Motor Port.
b. Teams may not “Y” off a Motor Controller 29

Well, is it legal to y-cable into the power expander, then y- cable again? Technically, only two motors are being powered per each port in this case.

Bring that up in the official tech support channel and get an official answer from @Karthik

I asked a while ago and the answer was no, though I may not have been clear enough with what I was asking

To be clear.
You can have 1 Y-Cable coming out of the cortex, then no more Y-Cables. You must only have 2 Motors connected to any 1 Cortex port.
You cannot Join up Y-Cables to have more motors.
It’s up to the people running inspection to determine if you have done this correctly.
