Soon I might be moving too a different school and I want to know how much a field, the parts to build a decent robot would be, and how much tournament registration would cost in a teams first year
For one team, this would be my list. about $1000. Additional teams would not be as expensive as the second team would not need their own field. In my classes I have 6 teams as a time and three fields.

All the above plus a foundation add-on kit.
To compete, you’ll also need to pay registration with RECF $100, plus competition fees $50-150 depending on the venue. Check robotevents.com to see how much local events are charging.

For 2020-2021 You will actually need 3 of the 1/2 field kits. Or one full field and one 1/2 field.
Field size is moving to 6’ x 8’.
So the new full field will be about $300.

So, I would ask for $2,000 and you’ll probably spend closer to $1,500 with a little bit going forward. Depending on your kids you would probably qualify for states and that has additional costs as well and if you get a little extra up front that will help.
