Could not launch backend service

Hello,

I have a windows 10 laptop and upon lauching vexcode pro v5, I always get greeted by the warning: “Could not launch backend service”. Anyone have any fixes for windows? I tried reinstalling it multiple times.

Look here and see if this helps:

Hi,

Where would the VEX log be stored at in the windows version?

Not sure - I’m a Mac guy.

From a quick search on my system, this should be what you’re looking for on Windows: C:\Users\{Your username}\AppData\Local\VEXcode Pro V5\User Data\Default\logs\server.log

I checked my activity monitor. It said that Vexpro V5 is indeed occupying the 3 intended port. However, I have no way to terminate it and I don’t know why it’s not using the opened ports.

I would assume VEXcode is running as another user and that’s why it can’t launch the backend services. Then again, I would assume it would give you that specific error message (because I know there’s an error message specifically for when it’s already running.) First thing I’d try is checking Task Manager and seeing if there are any processes relating to VEXcode, and terminating them if so. If that doesn’t work, a full reboot should get rid of anything that’s lingering.

I have solved the issue by uninstalling my firewall softwares. Thank you for those who helped me.
