Anyone feel like having a forum meet up at the Open? It’d be pretty fun to just relax and talk about our experiences. It could probably be at the conference center.
I think it’s also worth mentioning that the two are totally independent. Teams at US Open cannot qualify for Worlds at the event. Teams are allowed to attend both; however, this is uncommon because traveling long-distance is expensive.
U.S. Open is hosted by CREATE and Worlds is hosted by VEX.
Ya, that might be pretty fun. If anyone has been around there and knows a good restaurant, maybe we could all go there for lunch or dinner one of the days.
The Vexmen will be sending five teams to the US Open this year. Last year there were two middle school teams attending, this year it is five!
In the middle school division, we have four Vexmen teams attending:
80J – Cannonball
80K – Magik
80X – Ghostrider
80Y – Quicksilver
In the high school division, one team will be representing the Vexmen:
81Z - Professor X

I went last year and the restaurant I recommend is Quakers Steak and Lube. It is fairly close to the center.
Anyone know of a good vegetarian place or a place that has good vegetarian options? (not needed to be 100% veggie, just more than a few limited options)
I know, go to the capital of steak and need vegetarian food. Sigh.
There are probably close to 40-50 Vexmen folks coming to Council Bluffs/Omaha if you include parents and siblings. So someplace that has enough seating for a large group for at least one meal is preferred.
Spaghetti Works was a place recommended to me.

Im going to the U.S. Open, but its like 5 minutes away, so nothing extremely special haha. But I sadly did not qualify for worlds as well.

I am with 5233J we will be in the highschool division. Come by our pit. We will have candy. Also we are in the works of bring mario kart with us. This is one great tournament and we just can not wait for it!
My team is going to the US Open (high school division). We don’t have candy so you will probably see us at everyone else’s pits stuffing our faces with their chocolate 
OOO candy! Nothing says pick me for an alliance like a good piece of candy lol.
