Hi, I’m taking a robotics and engineering class, working with breadboards, micro bits and of course vex IQ. I had the idea to combine the different topics I’ve gone over, I want to create a breadboard-microbit controller to control a vexbot. I don’t intend to use it in any competitions so I don’t really care if it’s competition legal. I’m doing it for the challenge of programming these different systems to work in cohesion. My understanding is that most of it is pretty open source and it all backs up to root coding. So where would I start to linking the different platforms?
Tldr: I want to make my own rudimentary controller "not for competition use "using breadboards and microbits to connect to a basic vex Iq robot, Is this possible. If so, How do I start?
you could try wirelessly connecting it through your computer to a cheap Bluetooth enabled microcontroller (i.e. the $6 raspberry pi Pico w) and sending signals from it through “borrowed” 3 wire cables from old broken components (broken now anyway*) to the brain.
