Has anyone else had any motors die in this way? While practicing my flywheel motor just suddenly stopped powering the flywheel and now the link light won’t come on and it just makes a buzzing noise:
Can you turn the output shaft by hand? Have you taken the gear pack out and then tried the motor?
I had this issue, vex replaced the motor.
Yes I can turn it by hand and have verified that there is no issue of stuck gears all the way up the system. This seems to be a different issue from the one in the other thread.
We’ve had one die this way, too, after a short period of very light use. Took it apart and tried it without the gear pack and with a different gear pack. Turns by hand pretty smoothly one way, but not the other. Makes a sad little whimpering beep/buzz, has a flashing light red, and doesn’t work. VEX has shipped a replacement, and didn’t suggest any further troubleshooting.
