2014-2015 VEX Robotics Season Underway
The REC Foundation reports more than 10,000 teams registered for the season with well over 1,500 for the VEX IQ Challenge, more than 8,500 for the VEX Robotics Competition, and nearly 300 for VEX U. As the season kicks into gear, please visit RobotEvents.com frequently as new events, leagues, scrimmages, and skills only events are added.

Check Out the Online Challenges Today!
Remember that you must submit at least two Online Challenges to be eligible for the Excellence Award at the VEX Robotics Competition World Championship. Don’t forget to submit your Online Challenges by January 13th, 2015. The brand new VEX IQ Highrise Beltway Virtual Challenge by RobotC and the Computer Science Student Network is also now open through March 15th. Register and begin working on your code today!

VEXnet 2.0 Trade-In Program & VEXnet Firmware Update
The VEXnet 2.0 trade-in program is aimed at assisting those customers who wish to acquire the new VEXnet 2.0 Keys. Customers will receive $30 off a new VEXnet 2.0 key for each original VEXnet key returned to us. We will accept any number of original VEXnet Keys. Returned keys with more than minimal damage will not be considered valid trade-ins. The program will run until December 31, 2014. In addition, there has been an update to the VEXnet firmware. This update must be made on the Cortex Microcontroller, VEXnet Joystick, and VEXnet 2.0 Keys using the VEXnet Firmware Upgrade Utility and the VEXnet 2.0 Key Firmware Upgrade Utility.

Join the Hour of Code This Week with REC Foundation!
The week of December 8-14, 2014, is Computer Science Education Week. During this week, students are encouraged to take part in The Hour of Code, a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. Check out the tutorials, and look out for new ones coming for the Hour of Code 2014. The REC Foundation will be coding and sharing news all week on Facebook and Twitter

Volunteers Needed for 2014-2015 VEX Robotics Season!
It’s a great time of year to join the VEX Robotics community and get involved as a volunteer at a local event or even at the 2015 VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky, on April 15-18.
