I don’t know when an official Q&A forum will be created for Sack Attack, so I’ll ask in the general forum instead.
Will we be allowed to “shake” the high goal to make sacks fall off? Rule <SG9> says:
What happens if if a scoring mechanism hits the goal and shakes it? I don’t know how strong the goal is, but it looks like a light tap could descore any elements hanging off the side. I understand it may be hard to issue a blanket ruling on this, but I’m just looking to see if it is frowned upon.
From the field specs it looks like the 30in goals have 15in beyond their support from the trough. They may wobble a bit, but unless the sacks are already close to falling off or there are many on the goal, i can’t see them falling off. There is also a ledge on the high goals which may help with the issue.
We were actually thinking of doing the same thing, if we are unable to easily grab the game objects on the high goals. From what we can tell from the rules, as long as the intent is not to break the high goal, and the high goal is not broken in the attempt, this is a valid strategy.
I’d like to hear the official word before officially answering your question, but this is what our team has concluded from half a dozen people pouring over the manual during the last 72 hours.
