My team uses a bound composition book for our design notebook, we have also been working on a binder that we use to keep other things like code printouts and larger photos that wouldn’t fit on our book. My question is; would we be allowed to turn in a 1inch binder in addition to our main notebook as materials to be considered for judges awards?
You may place your bound engineering notebook with your unbound materials for judges. Please look at previous posts on this forum and note that your team should be documenting code development in your engineering notebook as it occurred. This does not mean every line of code, but it does mean discussion of code needs as well as small samples of code as they relate to your specific design that may be of interest to judges. The same is true for other items such as CAD drawings which can always be printed out as PDFs on standard paper and incorporated in the notebook. See the hints listed on the inside cover of the VEX robotics notebook your first team received when they signed up.
