As much as we are getting further into the season, I believe it’s a good idea to re-evaluate names so they sound more professional and mature. For “In The Zone” Season, the Goliath Intake was later named to just rollers for the sake of being both simplistic and understandable:
If we were to have competitions, I think it would be the best of interests to not call the design “Pooper” and call robots “Snailbots.” The issue I think with pooper is that it sounds relatively immature, and snailbots doesn’t match the name of such a fast and nimble design. That being said, I want to help with finding more mature words that we can go with that’s more socially acceptable for the designs:
Ejection Rollers
Expel Rollers
Dump Rollers
Ditch Rollers
Boot Rollers
0voters
Hood Bot
Roller Bot
Layup Bot
0voters
Most of these names were taken from the thesaurus in a sense.
If there’s any new words that I can add to the polls, let me know and I’ll add em
I’ve always called it a hood bot, because it doesn’t really look like a snail that much tbh and snailbot isn’t very descriptive.
I do see how pooper isn’t really professional, but I don’t see it changing because its easy to say, mildly amusing, and is actually pretty descriptive. But for judged interviews and with people unfamiliar with your robot, probably will want to call them ejection rollers or something more professional.
I don’t think you understand the purpose for this thread
Its to make sure that there’s no family members/audiences on streaming platforms or in VRC competitions find vulgar meanings if they decided to use google. Also its to clarify the vagueness of some names.
Kind of because when you think of ejection rollers. It just sounds weird. Also people already have roller/intakes in the front of the robot. So people might get confused. But personally I just like the sound of it really. Just sounds more professional
