Test pgms, both Modkit and easyC return static results. Have updated firmware. Is the unit dfective?

We’re sorry that you have encountered this issue. This large >26,000mm distance being returned from the Distance Sensor only occurs when the Distance Sensor has not seen any objects. The Distance Sensor may have a difficult time seeing small objects, or those angled away from the Distance Sensor.
For best results, please position the Distance Sensor between 100mm and 600mm away from an object that is perpendicular to the Distance Sensor’s line of sight.
