Do all the c-channels in a dr4b have to rotate with the axles?

The c-channels that ARE NOT GEARED don’t rotate with the axle in the dr4b I made. The c-channels can move up and down, but the axle doesn’t rotate with it. Does this matter?

not really, as long as the c-channels rotate when the gears are driven it should be fine.

The rotation of the axles doesn’t matter if it’s not geared. You’re good.

Let me add a point of clarification. The dr4b doesn’t inherently care, as mentioned above. Let them spin however, and frequently screws are used as axles and this happens anyway. However, if you want to use a potentiometer, for example, you need the axle’s rotation to match the rotation of the arm relative to it’s vertical connector. In such cases, somewhere the axle needs to be held fixed relative to the piece the potentiometer is not attached to.

Ah, good point.
