Do you think that Google Slides is good for a notebook
Absolutely! Google slides is one of the most common tools for the engineering notebook.
If you are looking for a place to start on your notebook, a good template can really help! This my template, streamlined for an easy experience and complete with instructions for new users.
Hello OtterLover,
For beginners, Slides can indeed be a useful tool for notebooking. It’s primary advantages are its intuitive nature and overall user friendliness. It is also super easy to rearrange things on the page however you want.
I know a lotttt of Slides users, but I personally prefer to use Google Docs for notebook. It has significantly better integrated tools, that once you know how to use them, notebooking becomes sooooo much easier. It has a higher learning curve, but I think that it is definitely worth it.
(Some of these features include a built-in automated table of contents - this means you never have to worry about or deal with incorrect headers, page numbers, etc in your table of contents, and instead of tediously adding each one individually, you can update the entire toc (with hyperlinks!) with a single click. You also have automatic page numbering, the ability to have automatically updated footers and headers, and when your information doesnt all fit on one page, it will automatically move it to the next as opposed to Slides just allowing you to overflow and forcing you to move everything manually)
Ultimately, what you choose to use is up to you and is largely dependent on personal preference. Either way, you can develop a unique style that suits your needs. However, if you are interested in learning more about how to use docs, feel free to reach out and I can teach you anything you’d like to know. If you feel more comfortable with Slides, that’s a solid option as well. Good luck!
