Which type of motor is better for intakes?

200 RPM is going to allow you to intake cubes much faster than 100 RPM, with the tradeoff being torque. It depends on several other factors on your robot, such as tray angle, intake design, etc.

Speed of intake

My team has a 9 cube tray bot, but we have had some torque issues, but resolved them by switching to red 100 rpm cartridges. We think that this might be to slow. What size sprockets are other teams using and what color motor cartridges? We are using red cartridges with 24 tooth sprockets.

After messing around with the intake, my team found that the 100 RPM motor cartridges gave enough torque to push 7+ cubes into the tray, speed was not an issue. But the main problem that it sounds like you are having is a compression issue. At first my tray could only get 4 cubes, but after playing around with the compression and intake angle, we basically doubled that number of cubes that we could take in.
