Has there ever been a VEX team composed of members from two different schools in two different towns?
If so, how did that work. Also how would that work/would that work at all? I’m interested in hearing different opinions on this subject.

Well, we considered doing it with a team “local” to us but they were simply too far away for the idea to really take off. Not too many people into Vex in Alaska! 
Things also broke down when we couldn’t resolve issues such as parts lying everywhere, and somehow the inter-school grudge came into play. It simply couldn’t be resolved 
Aww, it would have been nice to see how that went! The distance issue is really understandable though.
Haha, that could be a good thing though
