Does anyone know why vexcode v5 pro is just saying "Building, error" whenever I try to build it?

It just says “Building, error” and then stops trying to build whenever I try to build it. There are no registered errors in the code.

Not off the top of my head. Can you share your code so we can review it?

One tip is to see if you still get the error when you comment out all of the code by wrapping it inside of /* and */.

Menu > Tools > Toggle Block Comment

Example:

/*
int main() {
  Competition.autonomous(autonomous);
  Competition.drivercontrol(usercontrol);

  pre_auton();

  while (true) {
    wait(100, msec);
  }
}
*/

Did you look at the output tab? The error is usually in there.

I put it into a comment like you said and it still said building, error, so it’s not the code.

Will a new blank competition project build?
Are you using the Configuration tab to declare some of the motors or sensors? There may be a conflict.

As @Snowplou mentioned, what text is in the output tab at the bottom?

This is what is in the output.

It builds fine on a blank new code.

I get the same error in a code sample when I comment out the main() function. That is the entry point for the application. Does your code have a main() function in the main.cpp file?

Below is my example but your code may be different.

int main() {
  Competition.autonomous(autonomous);
  Competition.drivercontrol(usercontrol);

  pre_auton();

  while (true) {
    wait(100, msec);
  }
}
