Yes, it only comes with the green (18:1/200 rpm) cartridges, however, you can buy additional motor cartridges here for $11.49 USD each.

Yes, the pre-designed trainers (so-called “hero bots”) and designed to be built from a Competition Starter Kit. Using additional gearings and such is generally done by more advanced teams who are designing and building their own robots rather than building a kit from plans.
