Double reverse 4-bar linkage lift question

Our team built the double reverse 4-bar linkage as lift. It works well if we use hand to lift the structure up. However, if we use motor, the motor gets hot but the structure fails to lift up. Is it possible that double reverse 4-bar is too heavy that we need two motors (in-sync) to drive the structure?

Note that we have successfully built and used 6-bar linkage lift with single motor. It worked well. don’t know if the extra pieces used on double reverse 4-bar made it too heavy?

Your inputs are welcome!

Could you post a picture of the mechanism? Does it have any assistance from elastics?

I would definitely use two motors. How can you keep the two sides in sync? Do you have the motor on the bottom or halfway up?

The motors are much heavier than the plastic, so I would do two motors in the bottom of the robot, one on each side.
