I am wondering for this years game Skyrise, is anyone going to be using bar linkages or are you guys going with scissor lifts and erratic linear lifts. If so please let me know so I could potentially build a double reverse six bar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I will definitely be using an erratic lift
I will be using a 12 bar
Aahhhhh!!! You just can’t get people away from 6 bars.
Im using a six bar with an intake tilts.
I will be using a Danny Lift, or a double Danny Lift. see https://vexforum.com/t/new-and-improved-lift-design/26258/1 for more info.
This lift is close to a double reverse 4 bar, but with several improvements. Check it out and let me know if you like it
My team is actually debating this. We are not sure whether we want to make a very stable scissor lift, a double 4-bar (like the ‘danny’ lift here on the forum), a 12 bar, or possibly something else. Has anyone ever heard of someone making a double 6-bar? I’ve been told they are possible and do exist by some and that they’ve never been made before by others.
Well thanks for all of your opinions. But I think I’ll try and build the double reverse six bar and I hope it works.
Why would you choose a reverse double six bar over a reverse double four bar…?
I guess he wants to extend really high
I think the double reverse four bar will get you a foot higher than you need to already. The double reverse six bar at that point would be extra complexity, thickness, weight, etc…
I really just want to reach the top of the skyrise sections to score a lot of points. So I felt that the double reverse six bar could get the job done.
Like I said. The reverse double four bar could reach like 6 feet…
I think this year may be the year of double 4 bars and 6 bars. I will probably know our new robot in late June, but I haven’t seen the real thing the skyrise is.
