Sorry for the newbie question, but how do I attach the dr4b to chassis?
You put a tower at the front of your chassis, then attach the two lower bars using axles or screws.
Check out1970K’s robot.
That should help, and good luck!
So should I just attach the dr4b (using screws) to a c-channel that is going across the chassis? That is that I saw 1970K do.
Yes, with bearings on both sides (one on the towers and 1 on the actual arm of the dr4b) and please do not use axles, they have too much play within them
Can you elaborate? I don’t understand why you would attach a bearing to the arms of the dr4b.
If you look at the video, you can see that 1970K’s robot has two c-channels sticking up at the front of their robot. Their bottom 4-bar is connected to these using bearings (those little black things with three holes).
By the two c-channels that are sticking up, do you mean the tower of the dr4b?
I would suggest that you have two c-channels for both sides like 8675A and 1970K have in this video. You can see it at 2:05, 2:35, 3:25 and 3:32. In my opinion this is better than one c-channel per side because it creates less friction so your lift can be smoother and faster.
