our dr4b is complete but we are having issues with the gears slipping. We have tried adding rubber bands but it does not help at all and we are using two 86 tooth high strength gears we are lifting a turntable rotatable claw. please help, any suggestions on how to stop gear slipping would be perfect
Are the shafts for the gear properly supported with bearings? Also are the gears mounted on the same piece of metal or different pieces.
same metal they are supported with spacers we are using two motors at the bottom and 1 motor up on the side of the tower
like this one but with a motor on the 2nd gear
can you post a pic of your lift?
i cant right now but it is exactly like the other lift and on the end of the lift is a turntable and metal claw
Also how heavy is your claw? I am betting that is the biggest issue, try to cut down on as much weight as you can.
and with the motors like i said
i will post pics as soon as i can
Is your tower perfectly parallel, that is also a common issue.
heavy made out of steel but we are tying to pu aluminum but we only have a little bit of it and yes it is parellel i will post pic as soon as possible
ya that is probably your biggest issue. Steel will make it a lot heavier causing it to slip.
If you have to use some steel use it on the bottom of your lift.
ya true we will try reduce it as much as posible
we only have a tiny bit of aluminum
If you can’t get more aluminum you could try replacing aluminum parts on other parts of your robot with steel.
the problem is we can not get it in time for our next comp so we can only rotate caps not lift the lift
Can you park?
yes
ok that is good at least
