So i was just made aware that it is very likely that I will have to drive our robot this year. This is my 4th year in robotics, and I’ve never driven, so I’m not super good at it, I drive it around a little bit messing around, but not a lot. So I was looking at ways I could improve the controls to make it easier for me, and I’m considering changing the drive code to one joystick controlling forwards and backwards motion, and the other controlling turning. I play a lot of Overwatch, so this is what I am most used to while using a controller, and I want to see if it will help me at all for driving, but I’m not sure how I would even code this.
If I remember right, you just need to set the drive motors to the value of the joystick you want for forward, and set it to right motors - left motors for the joystick you want for turning.
