Hi guys I have a question that may seem stupid. Should the c channels on the outside of a drive base face inwards or outwards? If pointed inwards wouldn’t it be hard to make sure the axels don’t extend outside the base? At the same time having them pointed inwards could make it easier to space gearing and wheels? Sorry if this is dumb.
Usually we point them outwards (with the big flat side inwards) to make spacing easier. This also allows a buffer zone to place in bearing blocks and to be able to cut the ends off axles which are too long.
It really just depends on your preference. Some people like opposite facing C-Channels while other people like other combos. Just keep in mind about what ur planning on adding in the future and choose the config that will make building the easiest
