Driver Strategies

This is our first year doing Robotics. I’m looking for some articles or examples on how to come up with driver strategies for this years game. Even if it’s just a list of different scenarios. Anything at this point is greatly appreciated.

The most helpful you can do to create driver strategies is to watch tournament live streams and figure out what the wining is doing differently than enables them to win. You can easily find recordings of tournaments on YouTube or by looking at robotevents

Just make sure that you keep your eye on the surrounding field (and not on just your bot) so you can see what’s happening and make moves off it.
Also ask your school’s teams to play the game with you. Practice makes perfect.

For example, for this year’s game, if you see one of the other team’s bot trying to score, and the second bot playing defense on your teammate, you could either play defense on the second bot or just score.
(At the moment, I can’t think of a better situation than this, but as the season goes on, you’ll probably learn some things by then)

Be willing to do more than onething like if you are good at defence but for a strategy you need offence the do offence . Also get good at making descisions on the fly. At my summer camp the claw fell apart half way through the match so I have to change that strategy.
